CWMA hosts field tour for Japanese chaff flower

The River to River CWMA hosted a field our to learn more about Japanese chaff flower, a new invader moving through southern Illinois. The field day started at the Barkhausen Wetlands Center and finished at Chestnut Hills Nature Preserve. Twenty-five people attended the tour, including state and federal employees, non-profit organization staff, conservation organization members, and private citizens. Attendees got a first-hand introduction to Japanese chaff flower. Impacts, management, and spread prevention were discussed as well.
